President Tinubu Condoles with Buhari Family in Kaduna
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday visited the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna State to pay his respects.
The President was received by Mrs. Aisha Buhari, widow of the late leader, on behalf of her children. He was accompanied by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, several other state governors, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, ministers, senators, and other top government officials.
Earlier in the day, President Tinubu attended the wedding of Nasirudeen Yari, son of former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdullaziz Yari, to Safiyya Idris at the Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna State.
The late President Buhari passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at The London Clinic, United Kingdom, after a prolonged illness. His remains were flown to Nigeria, received by President Tinubu at Katsina Airport, and accorded full military honours, including gun salutes and a ceremonial procession. Islamic rites were observed prior to his interment in Daura.
President Tinubu’s visit underscores the administration’s respect for the legacy of Nigeria’s former Commander-in-Chief and his family.
