Anambra Govt Approves ₦43.7bn for Roads, Schools, and Key Infrastructure Projects

The Anambra State Government has approved contracts totaling about ₦43.7 billion for roads, power, schools, and other essential infrastructure projects, aimed at improving the living standards of residents across the state.

The state Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, disclosed that these decisions were made during the 19th meeting of the Anambra State Executive Council, held at the “Light House” in Awka on Monday.

Mefor emphasized that no new projects will be initiated solely for the election season. “The state government will continue to award projects based on strategic and economic importance, and on areas with the highest needs. We are not starting any new projects just because of elections,” he stated.

The construction of Adili/Park Road, with a spur to the Building Materials Market in Nnewi, was awarded to Ferrotex Construction Company for ₦1.40 billion.

Rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of the Anambra State Civil Service Commission premises, Awka, for ₦147 million.

Traffic management works, including stop lines and pedestrian crossings at traffic light junctions statewide, awarded to Navigator Sign Ltd for ₦124.9 million.

Construction of playgrounds, volleyball and tennis courts, and related facilities at Ekwulobia Stadium Complex, Aguata LGA, to M.O. & C Int’l Ltd for ₦927 million.
