Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Chief Imam of Owo, Sheikh (Dr.) Imam Alhaji Mayor Ahmad Olagoke Aladesawe, who passed on at the age of 91.

In a condolence message yesterday, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the late cleric as “a revered scholar, a spiritual guide of uncommon wisdom, and a source of inspiration to the Muslim Ummah and the larger society.”
The governor said Sheikh Aladesawe’s life was wholly dedicated to the service of Allah and humanity, adding that he would be fondly remembered for his unwavering commitment to peace, unity and moral guidance.
He said: “On behalf of the Government and people of Ondo State, I extend heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Muslim Ummah, and the entire people of Owo. Though we mourn his departure, we take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life of faith, knowledge, and impact.”
Aiyedatiwa prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Chief Imam, grant him Aljannah Firdaus, and comfort all who mourn the loss.
Sheikh Aladesawe, who held the position of Chief Imam of Owo for decades, was widely respected for his scholarship, humility and guidance to generations of Muslims. He is expected to be buried according to Islamic rites.
