Kwankwaso Mobilises NNPP Stakeholders in Cross River Ahead of 2027 Elections
The National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and its 2023 presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Tuesday convened party stakeholders in Calabar, Cross River State, to strategise for the 2027 general elections.
Addressing members, Kwankwaso emphasised the need for unity and a strengthened party presence across the state.
“I am grateful to the leaders and members of NNPP in Cross River State for welcoming us. I urge you to work diligently to maintain unity within the party,” he said.
The former Kano State governor further stressed that a cohesive approach would be critical to winning both state and national elections in 2027.
“Let me thank you for your efforts during the 2023 elections. By God’s grace, if we remain united, the NNPP will succeed in Cross River and nationwide,” he added, noting the recent establishment of a major party office in Calabar and expansion into several local government areas.
Barr. Tony Odey, the State Chairman, described Kwankwaso’s visit as a morale booster for the party. He acknowledged the contributions of the Contact Committee, led by Alhaji Ahmed Bitchi, for providing office accommodation and an official vehicle, calling these achievements “sources of envy to other political parties in the state.”
Odey also highlighted that offices in the five local government areas of the Northern Senatorial Zone have been fully funded, with plans underway to brand them in party colours.
In his remarks, the party’s publicity secretary, Odey Nyambi, expressed gratitude to the national leader for engaging stakeholders and reaffirmed the NNPP’s determination to secure victory in Cross River in 2027.
