Lagos APC Dismisses Tambuwal’s Claim of Consensus to Unseat Tinubu
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed recent remarks by former Sokoto State governor, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, describing them as a failed attempt to distort political realities.
Tambuwal, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had said that the push to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 was a “national consensus” rather than a “northern conspiracy.”
In response, APC spokesperson in Lagos, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, said on Sunday that the only consensus gaining traction across the country is the one in support of good governance. He maintained that Nigerians would reward Tinubu with renewed trust if his administration continues to deliver results.
Oladejo also advised Tambuwal to focus on issues surrounding his tenure as Sokoto governor, which he said remain subjects of investigation by anti-graft agencies.
He further described opposition efforts to form a coalition ahead of the 2027 elections as unrealistic, citing conflicting ambitions and personal interests among leading figures.
“Nigerians overwhelmingly rejected the opposition in 2023 and continue to support a government that prioritises performance over propaganda,” Oladejo said, adding that the Renewed Hope Agenda was already producing visible results in economic reforms and infrastructure projects.
According to him, “Halfway into his first term, the clarity, courage and competence of President Tinubu’s leadership are becoming evident nationwide.”
