FCT Minister to Respond to Tambuwal’s Attack – Olayinka

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, will soon respond to comments made by former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, against him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This was disclosed on Monday by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.

Tambuwal, while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, had declared that his political choices had always been guided by principles of leadership and not personal ties. He also hinted he would prefer former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to Wike if asked to choose who should lead the country.

But Olayinka, in a statement, said the former governor’s remarks amounted to an attack not just on Wike but also on President Tinubu.

“I have been inundated with calls, especially from journalists, seeking the Minister’s reaction,” Olayinka stated.

“Apart from what he said against the Minister, Tambuwal also cast aspersions on President Tinubu, and such will not go unresponded to. The Minister will respond accordingly. He will definitely tell Nigerians what a betrayal is and what it means to have integrity.

“Till then, let’s keep our fingers crossed,” he added.

Tambuwal and Wike, both former allies in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have been at loggerheads since the fallout of the party’s 2022 presidential primaries.
