IGP Appoints CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as New Force Public Relations Officer
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., has approved the appointment of CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), succeeding DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
CSP Hundeyin, a seasoned police officer and communicator, brings a wealth of experience in public relations and security management to his new role. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master of Science in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He has also obtained a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.
In addition, Hundeyin is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
Throughout his career, CSP Hundeyin has served in various capacities, including Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department in Abuja, and Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command. He was also part of the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020.
In his new capacity, the IGP has tasked CSP Hundeyin with leveraging his extensive communications and security experience to strengthen the Force’s public relations activities and foster continuous positive engagement with the public.
The appointment was formally announced in a statement signed by DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, mnipr, mipra, fCAI, the outgoing Force Public Relations Officer.
