Eid-ul-Maulud: Sanwo-Olu Highlights Prophet Muhammad’s Lessons for a United Nigeria
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Muslims in Lagos and across Nigeria on the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Maulud, the annual commemoration of the Prophet’s birth, is widely celebrated across northern Nigeria with processions, prayers, and community gatherings.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu urged Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and embody his principles of humility, compassion, and justice in daily life.
“The Prophet’s life remains a timeless guide for Muslims worldwide. Embracing his values will promote harmony, moral uprightness, and peaceful coexistence,” the governor said.
He further encouraged prayers for a peaceful and united Nigeria, noting that the country’s prosperity under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope economic reforms can only be fully realized in an atmosphere of stability.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, I congratulate the Muslim Ummah on this occasion of Eid al-Maulud. I pray for more beautiful days and continuous progress aligned with our THEMES+ development agenda,” Sanwo-Olu added.
