Ogun APC Ratifies Suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel, Hon. Kunle Folarin Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ratified the suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Kunle Folarin following allegations of anti-party activities.

At a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) held on August 19 and chaired by the State Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, the committee reviewed disciplinary reports submitted by Ward 4 and Ward 6 of Sagamu Local Government. Sixteen members of the SWC were in attendance.

According to the reports, separate disciplinary committees were set up in the two wards to investigate allegations of misconduct against Senator Daniel and Hon. Folarin. Both committees formally invited the members under investigation to appear before them and submit written defenses, but neither responded nor attended the proceedings.

The committees also alleged that the duo engaged in actions aimed at frustrating the disciplinary process, including harassment of party members and attempts to coerce petitioners into withdrawing their complaints.

Following deliberations, the committees resolved to suspend the two party members indefinitely, citing their refusal to cooperate with investigations and interference with the disciplinary process. Copies of the suspension letters were forwarded to the State Chairman for SWC consideration and approval.

After reviewing the committees’ findings, the SWC ratified the indefinite suspensions, stressing that the decision underscores the party’s determination to enforce discipline and uphold its constitution.
