We Must Close Ranks to Win Osun, ADC Tells Stakeholders

The Osun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for stronger unity and collaboration among its stakeholders as part of efforts to reposition the party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
ADC State Chairman, Dr. Charles Omidiji, made the call on Saturday during a joint strategic meeting between the party’s Local Government Chairmen and the leadership of the Omoluabi Progressive Group (OPG).
In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Abdulkudus Abdulsalam, Omidiji stressed that only a united front, backed by effective grassroots mobilisation, would place the ADC in a position to mount a credible challenge for power in 2026.
He commended the OPG coordinators across the local government areas for their organisational efforts, urging party leaders to promote peace and cohesion at the ward and unit levels.
Omidiji also reflected on his long-standing political relationship with the ADC National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, recalling his role as the then IPAC Chairman during Aregbesola’s assumption of office in November 2010.
Also speaking, the OPG State Chairman, Alhaji Abdulazeez Adesiji, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to working closely with the ADC’s structures across the state. He issued a directive that all OPG chairmen align with the party’s leadership at the grassroots.
Adesiji further emphasised neutrality and inclusiveness in the build-up to the primaries, warning against preferential treatment for any governorship aspirant.
He maintained that the overriding objective must be the ADC’s success in the 2026 governorship contest and the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that the party would achieve victory.
