US Lawmaker Warns Tinubu: Don’t Test Trump Over Alleged Christian Killings

The United States has sent a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu over the alleged killings of Christians in Nigeria. Riley Moore, the U.S. Representative for West Virginia’s 2nd congressional district, cautioned the Nigerian leader against testing President Donald Trump’s patience, following Trump’s remarks on potential military intervention.

Moore, reacting to the ongoing controversy, said the U.S. would not stand by while Christians in Nigeria face violence. In a series of tweets, he urged Tinubu’s government to act decisively to halt the killings.

“President Trump has provided clear forewarning if the current state of inaction continues in addressing the killings of our brothers and sisters in Christ in your country,” Moore wrote. “The days of the U.S. looking the other way are over – it will never happen on @POTUS’ watch. I urge you to cooperate with us in preventing this atrocity that worsens every day. We want your people to live in peace – all of them, especially Christians.”

He added: “The President has been clear. I would not test his resolve. Many have tried and all have failed. We will not allow the gates of hell to prevail against the faithful.”

The warning comes amid heightened global attention on security challenges in Nigeria and the Trump administration’s repeated threats of action if reports of targeted attacks on Christians persist.
