Bode George Cries Out: My Children Barred from Jobs Because of My Name

Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Bode George, has raised alarm over the difficulty his children face in securing employment in Nigeria, attributing the challenge to the notoriety of his name.

Speaking on Nigeria Info FM 99.3, George decried the high levels of hunger, unemployment, and anger across the country. He said Nigerians are struggling at all levels of society, with graduates “floating” without hope, while non-graduates remain idle.

George called on the federal government to establish a special fund to empower the youth without vocational skills and provide micro-credit facilities for young graduates who wish to venture into business.

He also criticized the management of public contributions for national projects, referring to the First Lady’s recent appeal for donations towards a national library. According to him, such funds should be sourced from bank donations, properly managed, and made publicly accountable.

George lamented that even his own children, who have long graduated, have been unable to secure jobs due to the stigma attached to his name.

“My children returned to seek employment, but they can’t get jobs because their name is Bode George,” he said.
