The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced plans to partner with the Nigerian Employers Consultative Association (NECA) to introduce an Artificial Intelligence-driven system to manage complaints and strengthen ethical policing across the country.

The partnership, discussed during a Tuesday meeting, aims to improve transparency in police operations and protect the rights of employers, NECA’s Director-General, Mr. Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, said.

Receiving the NECA delegation, PSC Chairman and retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hashimu Argungu, alongside Justice Paul Adamu Galumje and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (rtd, fdc), expressed the commission’s commitment to modernising policing through technology and professional training.

Argungu said the initiative would “enhance accountability and build public confidence in law enforcement,” adding that NECA’s input would help foster positive policing.

Oyerinde explained that NECA’s role is to support the Commission in managing complaints effectively, reducing extortion and corruption in the system. He also pledged that NECA would provide free professional training for PSC staff at its Abuja academy to improve complaint-handling processes.

The collaboration marks a significant step in leveraging technology and private sector expertise to improve police conduct and public trust in law enforcement.
