Governor Uzodinma Charges Imo Citizens to Work Towards Development
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has called on residents to actively contribute to the development of the state, while affirming his accountability for all actions and inactions of his administration.
The governor made the remarks during a church service at the Government House Chapel, held in celebration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Expressing gratitude to God for the opportunity to govern, Uzodinma pledged to remain fully answerable for decisions taken under his leadership.
He acknowledged that Nigeria is richly blessed with natural resources, but lamented that the country is yet to fully harness these for economic growth and improved livelihoods.
“Our government has resolved that significant changes must occur. The old ways of doing things must give way to a new order, as citizens should not continue to suffer amidst plenty,” the governor stated.
Uzodinma urged residents and stakeholders to embrace progress, stressing, “The old order is gone. We are gradually and incrementally transitioning to a new order. We must work diligently. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop, while a busy mind is productive.”
He called on all citizens to focus on productivity and constructive engagement, noting that collective effort is essential to achieving sustainable development in the state.
