Oseni faults Fubara, says Rivers governor subdued after emergency rule

Arise Television’s Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, yesterday took a swipe at Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, over his remarks on the state’s political situation following his reinstatement in office.

In a post on his X handle, Oseni accused the governor of surrendering under pressure, describing his current posture as “a peace of the graveyard.”

He wrote: “Fubara is celebrating peace of the graveyard after he has been bullied and subdued. Peace is better than war, he says. Play back all his tapes for him.”

Governor Fubara, in a statewide broadcast on Friday, had urged Rivers people to draw lessons from the six-month emergency rule imposed by President Bola Tinubu on the state, stressing that “the costliest peace is cheaper than the cheapest war.”

He explained that he chose to cooperate with the Federal Government and resisted pressures to challenge the constitutionality of the emergency rule in order to preserve peace, stability, and progress in the state.
