Osun 2026: Adegoke, Olopoeyan hold closed-door meeting amid political realignments
Adegboyega Adegoke, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Osun State, has held a closed-door meeting with a chieftain of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Abdul-Rasheed Olopoeyan.
The meeting was held on Thursday at Olopoeyan’s residence in the state.
Adegoke was accompanied by the ADC Deputy National Women Leader, Southwest, Kafilat Olayiwola.
Both Adegoke and Olopoeyan were formerly members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before leaving the party for different political platforms.
The purpose of the meeting was not disclosed by either politician.
However, the meeting comes amid ongoing political realignments in Osun State following the August 15 governorship election and ahead of future political contests in the state.
Sources said the meeting may be connected to the governorship race, although there was no official confirmation of the subject discussed.
The development has sparked speculation among political observers, particularly given the previous association between the two politicians and their current positions in different political parties.
