Adeleke Raises Alarm Over Alleged Plan to Swap Official Results

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is plotting to replace authentic election results with fake result sheets at collation centres.

Adeleke, who made the allegation shortly after casting his ballot at his polling unit in Ede on Saturday, said, “We have it on good authority that Osun APC has written fake results for some local governments. The APC is looking for ways to swap the fake results with the original results.”

The governor urged voters across the state to come out en masse and protect their votes, insisting that the outcome of the election must reflect the votes cast at the various polling units.

According to him, collation of results should follow the established electoral process, beginning at the ward and proceeding to the local government level.

He specifically warned against any attempt to move local government collation centres to Osogbo, the state capital, alleging that such a move could provide an opportunity for manipulation of results.

“Ward collation is at the ward. Local Government collation is at the Local Government. Collation is not transferable. The people must insist across Osun State,” Adeleke said.

The governor further declared confidence in his victory, saying he expected to win the election by a wide margin.

“I am winning this election with wide margins. I have God and the people,” he said.

Meanwhile, voters across several parts of Osun State reportedly defied earlier concerns over insecurity and turned out to exercise their franchise.

Reports from different local government areas indicated significant voter turnout, with voting proceeding in many locations without major disruption as of the time of filing this report.

Adeleke also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and ensure that their votes were protected through every stage of the collation process.
