Oyo APC backs Oyebamiji for victory

The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has urged voters in Osun State to support its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in Saturday’s election.

‎The party said the August 15 poll presented Osun residents with an opportunity to change the leadership of the state and elect what it described as a more competent and accountable administration.

‎The Oyo APC made the call in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, in Ibadan on Sunday.

‎The party cited quality leadership, effective representation and equitable distribution of resources as reasons voters should back the APC candidate.

‎It accused the incumbent administration of poor governance, wastefulness and nepotism, alleging that it had failed to meet the expectations of Osun residents.

‎The party said, “Osun voters should save their state from charlatans and comedians who have been in the saddle for close to four years, with only the record of wastefulness, nepotism and brigandage to show.”

‎The Oyo APC also compared the governance situations in Osun and Oyo, alleging that both states had suffered under their current administrations.

‎It further accused the Osun government of dividing residents along political and other lines, as well as engaging in what it described as lopsided distribution of appointments and infrastructure.

‎The party said the August 15 election offered Osun voters an opportunity to elect a leader capable of uniting the state and accelerating its development.

‎It described Oyebamiji as “the ideal man for the job”, expressing confidence that he would fulfil his campaign promises if elected.

‎The Oyo APC also called for an end to political violence in the state, saying an APC administration would restore peace, accountability and development.

‎“Enough of sponsored violence, brigandage and crime surge in Osun State. An APC government will restore peace, accountability in governance and accelerated development in Osun,” the party said.
