The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police to eight state commands and several strategic formations across the country.

The deployment, announced on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, followed the approval of the Police Service Commission.

The police said the move was aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness, improving leadership across commands and consolidating ongoing reforms.

The newly deployed Commissioners of Police to state commands are:

Abia State: CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo

Plateau State: CP Ayodeji Faniyan

Bayelsa State: CP Saka Adewale Ajao

Cross River State: CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue

Anambra State: CP Nanna Oji Ama

Edo State: CP Patrick Daaor

Jigawa State: CP Tani Murtala

Delta State: CP Samuel Erale

The IGP also approved deployments to strategic formations, including the Force Intelligence Department, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Department of Finance and Administration, Department of Training and Development, Police Academy and Police Staff College.

Disu charged the newly deployed officers to bring their experience to bear on their new assignments by strengthening intelligence-led policing, improving operational effectiveness, promoting professionalism and deepening engagement with communities.

The IGP also urged them to remain committed to protecting lives and property while upholding discipline, accountability and effective service delivery.

The police said the redeployment is part of ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency, strengthen internal capacity and enhance policing services nationwide.
