The Osun Accord accuses APC of sabotaging Adeleke’s projects, seeks investigation

The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of sponsoring the vandalisation of public infrastructure executed by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The allegation was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Chairman of Osun Accord, Pastor Victor Akande.

According to the party, it had received what it described as credible reports of a pattern of vandalism targeting government projects across the state ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The Accord alleged that the acts were aimed at undermining the achievements of the Adeleke administration and creating what it described as a false impression of government failure.

The party condemned the alleged sabotage, insisting that public infrastructure belongs to the people of Osun State and not to any political party.

It also called on security agencies to investigate the incidents, identify those responsible regardless of political affiliation and ensure they are prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The party urged residents, community leaders and youth groups to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities around government projects to security agencies.

Accord further maintained that the alleged vandalism would not derail the state’s developmental efforts, adding that the government would strengthen surveillance of public projects.

It disclosed that a monitoring team would be established while the Ministry of Works had commenced inspections of affected sites to assess the extent of the alleged sabotage.
