Outcry Trails Planned Burial of Woman Who Died at Umahi’s Residence
The planned burial of 26-year-old physiotherapist Mary Habila, whose body was found at the Ebonyi residence of Minister of Works, David Umahi, has sparked fresh public calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Habila, popularly known as Mara and reported to be the minister’s personal physiotherapist, allegedly died on June 27 at Umahi’s residence in Uburu, Ebonyi State.
Her family has fixed Friday, July 17, for her burial, despite ongoing police investigations and growing public demands for an autopsy and an independent probe.
The case has generated widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians calling for a transparent investigation. Some users also referenced past allegations involving the minister, although no evidence has been presented linking him to Habila’s death.
Authorities have yet to conclude investigations into the incident, and no official findings have been released regarding the cause of death.
