Osas Ighodaro lands lead role in Nolly-Bollywood series ‘Imported Bahu’

Nigerian-American actress and television host Osas Ighodaro has been cast in the lead role of Imported Bahu, an upcoming Nolly-Bollywood micro-drama series.

The series, unveiled on Monday by executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, also stars Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall in a story that explores love, family secrets and cross-cultural relationships.

Announcing the project on Instagram, Ahuja described Imported Bahu as the first vertical micro-drama series from her production company, Forever 7 Entertainment.

According to the trailer, the story follows Bahu Mehra, who returns home from abroad with Zara Ogun, a wealthy Nigerian fashion entrepreneur played by Ighodaro, instead of the gifts his family expected. Zara’s arrival sparks tension as she struggles to gain acceptance from her husband’s family.

The series is scheduled to premiere on July 2, 2026, exclusively on LebaraPlay, Africa’s first telecom-owned micro-drama streaming platform.

Ahuja, known for promoting collaborations between Nollywood and Bollywood through productions such as Namaste Wahala and Postcards, said the new series continues efforts to strengthen cross-cultural storytelling between Africa and India.

Ighodaro’s latest role marks another milestone in her international acting career, further expanding her presence in global film and television.
