NYSC Suspends 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course in Niger State

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the suspension of the 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course for prospective corps members posted to Niger State.

The scheme disclosed this in a notice published on its official X handle on Sunday, attributing the decision to ongoing renovation works at the state orientation camp.

According to the statement, affected prospective corps members (PCMs) will be notified of new arrangements for the exercise once plans are finalised.

“This is to notify the General Public and Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) deployed to Niger State for the 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course that their Orientation Course Exercise is suspended for now due to ongoing renovation work at the Orientation Camp,” the statement read.

“PCMs affected should note that they will be contacted at a short notice on where and when to report for their Orientation Course.”

The NYSC apologised for any inconvenience caused by the development to affected corps members and their parents.

The suspension follows infrastructure challenges at the Niger State orientation camp in Paiko, Paikoro Local Government Area, which suffered significant damage earlier in the year after a severe windstorm affected several facilities, including male hostels, the multipurpose hall, kitchen and staff quarters.

Following the incident, Governor Mohammed Bago directed immediate rehabilitation of the damaged structures.

The latest postponement adds to similar disruptions recorded in some states, including Enugu and Osun, where orientation activities were earlier affected by renovation works.

The 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course commenced nationwide on June 10, 2026, and is scheduled to end on June 30, 2026.
