The event, held in Ibokun, was led by the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Wole Oke, who described the initiative as a major step towards deepening the party’s grassroots presence across the state.

The canvassers, drawn from all wards and polling units in the local government, are expected to drive voter outreach, promote the party’s programmes and policies, and mobilise support for the APC candidate.

Party leaders at the event commended Hon. Oke for providing strategic leadership and creating a robust campaign structure that stakeholders believe could serve as a template for other local government areas in the state.

In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Hon. Engr. Moruf Ogundipe, praised the campaign council for the initiative, describing it as a significant step towards ensuring electoral success for the APC in the state.

Also speaking, Hon. Owoeye Samuel Abiodun disclosed that the canvassers were carefully selected from the 100 polling units in the local government, with 30 persons chosen from each unit to ensure effective grassroots coverage.

Barrister Dupe Ajayi administered the oath of office to the canvassers and urged them to remain committed to the objectives of the party while discharging their responsibilities.

Other stakeholders, including Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede, popularly known as JMK, Hon. Rufus Oluwatayo, Hon. Ezekiel Obeisun, Prof. Siji Olamijulo and Senator Francis Adenigba, called on the canvassers to remain focused and dedicated to the task ahead.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Wole Oke expressed satisfaction with the successful inauguration and announced plans for immediate training and orientation programmes for the canvassers.

“This is not just an inauguration; it is the activation of a well-coordinated grassroots machinery that will drive our campaign to success,” he said.

The APC chieftain expressed confidence that the structure put in place would significantly contribute to the party’s victory in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.
