Osun 2026: Ex-Oyetola Commissioner Bamisayemi Dumps APC
A former Commissioner for Education in Osun State, Mr. Folorunso Bamisayemi, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Bamisayemi, who served as Commissioner for Education during the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, announced his resignation in a letter dated June 1, 2026, and addressed to the APC Chairman in Kere Ward 09, Ife South Local Government Area.
The former commissioner, who also represented his constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly for two terms, said his decision followed careful reflection on recent political developments within the party in the state.
According to him, “After weeks of introspection and reflection on recent political developments within the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, I have conclusively resolved to resign my membership of the party with immediate effect.”
He expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the APC at the state, federal constituency and local government levels for the support he received during his time in the party.
“I sincerely appreciate the leadership and members of the party at the state level, Ife Federal Constituency and Ife South Local Government,” he stated.
Bamisayemi’s resignation comes ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election, amid ongoing political realignments across the state.
