NAF bombs terrorist hideouts in Sambisa, neutralises fighters
The Nigerian Air Force has said its counter-terrorism operations in Borno State targeted identified terrorist hideouts and logistics facilities at Biramiri in the Gezuwa general area of the state.
The NAF disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
According to the statement, the operation was carried out following credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance reports.
Ejodame said coordinated precision air strikes destroyed key terrorist infrastructure and neutralised several insurgents operating in the area.
“The coordinated attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralised several fighters, further crippling the operational capacity of the insurgents,” he said.
He added that sustained air offensives had continued to create fear and confusion among terrorist groups operating around the Sambisa axis.
According to him, intelligence assessments showed growing disorientation and apprehension among insurgents as ongoing bombardments restricted their movement and denied them safe havens.
“The NAF, in concert with troops of Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies, remains resolute in maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist networks while reinforcing its commitment to protecting innocent lives and restoring lasting peace and security across the North-East,” the statement added.
