PRP clears Donald Duke, two others for presidential primary cleared former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, and two other aspirants ahead of its presidential primary scheduled for Monday, May 25.

The party also cleared economist, Dr Nnaoke Ufere, from Abia State, and former African Action Congress presidential candidate, Yakubu Mohammed Kingsley, from Edo State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq.

According to the statement, the three cleared aspirants have agreed to subject their ambitions to the outcome of the party’s democratic process during the primaries.

“The three cleared presidential aspirants of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) have convened and unanimously agreed to submit their aspirations to the will of our party members during the upcoming primaries scheduled for May 25 across all parts of the country,” Ishaq said.

He added that the party remains committed to internal democracy and credible primaries involving all aspirants.

“The PRP takes pride in the calibre of its aspirants, whose dedication to democratic principles and commitment to teamwork have further strengthened our party,” he said.

Ishaq further noted that over 260 aspirants are expected to participate in various elective contests under the party, adding that the PRP will ensure a transparent and fair screening and selection process.

He assured that where consensus is not possible, the party will proceed with credible primaries in line with its guidelines.
