Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has formally presented the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for the state, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The development was disclosed by the Governor’s Spokesperson and Media Adviser, Dauda Iliya, in a post shared on his X handle.
During the visit, Governor Zulum commended President Tinubu’s efforts toward peace, stability and reconstruction in the North-East, saying the administration’s policies had strengthened governance and unity within the APC.
Gubio, who emerged unopposed as the APC governorship candidate during the party’s primary election in Maiduguri, was accompanied to the meeting by a member of the House of Representatives, Engr. Bukar Talba.
The APC governorship primary held on Thursday produced Gubio as the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 Borno governorship election.
The exercise was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Zulum, party leaders, delegates and stakeholders from across the state.
Party stakeholders described Gubio’s emergence as a consensus decision aimed at strengthening party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
