Ogundu Kingsley Chinda has emerged as the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general election.

The APC Governorship Screening Committee for Rivers State declared Chinda winner of the party’s primary election on Thursday at the APC secretariat after collation of results from wards across the 23 local government areas of the state.

Chairman of the Screening Committee, Bitrus Kwamoti, announced that Chinda secured a total of 268,497 votes to clinch the party’s ticket.

Kwamoti described the primary election as peaceful and successful, while commending party members for their conduct during the exercise.

Chinda will now fly the APC flag in the Rivers State governorship election in 2027.
