Hajj 2026: 930 Kwara pilgrims arrive Makkah
No fewer than 930 pilgrims from Kwara State have arrived in Makkah as Nigerian contingents continue their movement from Madinah ahead of the main rites of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The pilgrims, made up of the first and second batches from the state, travelled in 20 buses after departing Madinah around 8:00 a.m.
Speaking on the development, the Student Coordinator, Farouq Mahmood Abubakar, said the pilgrims arrived safely at the Kwara State accommodation facility in Makkah, known as Kwara State House 1.
He said the pilgrims were warmly received with food, drinks, fruits, and dates upon arrival.
According to him, the facility has the capacity to accommodate 1,317 pilgrims, ensuring adequate welfare for those on pilgrimage.
The movement forms part of the ongoing relocation of Nigerian pilgrims from Madinah to Makkah after completing their stay in the Prophet’s city.
Meanwhile, official figures show that 10,948 Nigerian pilgrims have so far arrived in Makkah ahead of the peak period of the 2026 Hajj operations.
