Activists and protesters on Wednesday stormed the head office of MTN Nigeria in Abuja, protesting what they described as high service charges and poor service delivery.

The protest, led by activist Omoyele Sowore, saw demonstrators chanting “MTN Ole!” as they demanded an immediate review of telecom pricing.

At the premises, protesters accused the company of exploitative billing practices, calling for urgent intervention.

“We demand that MTN immediately stop all the exorbitant charges. We need quality service in this country,” one of the protesters said.

Another protester cited widespread complaints from subscribers over poor value for money.

“Last week, someone complained that he paid a huge amount but was not given the data. That’s the story of many Nigerians,” he added.

The development comes amid growing dissatisfaction among telecom users over rising data costs and service quality.

Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has announced plans to picket South African businesses, including MTN and MultiChoice, in response to ongoing xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
