EPL Title Race: Man City Drop Crucial Points in Six-Goal Thriller Against Everton

Manchester City suffered a major setback in the English Premier League title race after playing out a dramatic 3-3 draw with Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday night.

Pep Guardiola’s men appeared to be cruising towards victory but were stunned by a late surge from the hosts, who capitalised on defensive lapses to turn the game on its head.

Jérémy Doku had given City the lead just before halftime with a fine curler, while Erling Haaland added another as the visitors looked in control.

However, the introduction of Thierno Barry proved decisive for Everton. The substitute struck twice, punishing a costly error from Marc Guéhi before combining effectively with Iliman Ndiaye to complete his brace.

Jake O’Brien also got on the scoresheet, rising highest to nod home from a corner as Everton briefly took control of the encounter.

City, however, fought back late on. Haaland pulled one back in the 83rd minute before Doku completed his brace deep into stoppage time to salvage a point for the reigning champions.

Despite the comeback, the result leaves City trailing leaders Arsenal by five points, a gap that could prove decisive with only a few matches remaining in the season.
