The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Oluwole Oluyede, has criticised the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, alleging a lack of meaningful development across the state.

Oluyede said the All Progressives Congress-led government had failed to translate available resources into impactful projects, insisting that Ekiti residents deserve governance that prioritises welfare and delivers visible results.

In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti, he questioned the absence of major projects worthy of presidential commissioning, arguing that nearly three years into the administration, there are no landmark developments to showcase.

He also raised concerns over conditions in key sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth empowerment, claiming many communities still face poor road networks, limited healthcare access, and inadequate economic opportunities.

However, the APC dismissed the claims, describing them as typical opposition criticism.

The party’s spokesperson, Segun Dipe, countered that the Oyebanji administration has delivered across sectors, citing road construction, improved electricity supply, prompt payment of salaries, and better welfare for pensioners as evidence of progress.

Dipe maintained that the governor’s performance justifies a second term, adding that his close working relationship with President Bola Tinubu reflects confidence in his leadership.
