Ekiti PDP candidate challenges Oyebanji to public debate
The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has challenged Governor Biodun Oyebanji to a public debate ahead of the June 20 governorship election.
Oluyede made the call during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by party members from the state’s 177 wards, saying the debate would allow voters to compare the performance of the current administration with the PDP’s alternative plans.
He said the engagement would give Ekiti residents an opportunity to assess both candidates based on issues and policy proposals.
The PDP candidate pledged to run an issue-based, data-driven campaign focused on job creation, education, infrastructure, healthcare and economic development.
He also promised prompt payment of gratuities, an affordable health scheme and practical solutions to improve the state’s fortunes if elected.
Oluyede urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, describing it as key to building momentum ahead of the poll.
He said his campaign would move beyond political slogans and focus on substance, with policy proposals backed by feasibility plans and implementation timelines.
