Iheanacho’s brace sends Celtic into Scottish Cup final
Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice in extra time as Celtic defeated St. Mirren 6–2 to secure a place in the Scottish Cup final.
Celtic had taken a 2–0 lead in regulation time through goals from Daizen Maeda and Anthony Ralston, but St. Mirren fought back with a Mikaël Mandron brace to level the game and force extra time.
Iheanacho, who came on in the 83rd minute for Yang Hyun-jun, restored Celtic’s lead in the 96th minute before adding his second goal in the 101st minute to put the match beyond St. Mirren.
The Nigerian forward has now scored six goals across all competitions for Celtic this season.
The result sends the Hoops into the Scottish Cup final as they continue their push for domestic silverware.
