APC Foils Adeleke’s Ambition, Oke Endorses Oyebamiji for Osun Governorship
In a bold endorsement, the Honourable Member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Oluwole Oke, has thrown his weight behind Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, commending the All Progressives Congress (APC) for blocking any attempt by incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke to join the party.
Speaking through his media aide, Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, Hon. Oke described the party’s decision as a decisive move that “helped preserve unity and avert a potential crisis that could have torn the APC apart in Osun State.”
In an interview with Channels Television, Oke stressed that admitting Governor Adeleke into the party could have triggered serious divisions, undermining APC’s structure ahead of critical elections.
The lawmaker expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s leadership credentials, highlighting his tenure as Commissioner for Finance as evidence of his competence and experience. “Osun State stands to gain immensely from Oyebamiji’s wealth of experience. He is well-positioned to defeat Governor Adeleke and restore APC’s dominance in the state,” Oke said.
On other fronts, the lawmaker dismissed claims that the federal government owes local councils in the state, calling such reports misleading. He affirmed that local government workers continue to carry out their duties across Osun State.
While acknowledging challenges in certain sectors, Oke drew attention to gaps in primary healthcare delivery in parts of Obokun and Oriade, urging that grassroots governance and service delivery be strengthened.
