BREAKING: Kwankwaso’s Son Dumps NNPP, Moves to Join ADC

Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resigned his membership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Mustapha, who also serves as Secretary of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, announced his resignation in a statement shared on his Facebook page on Monday.

“I want to inform the general public that as of today, I have officially resigned my membership from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP),” he said.

He described the decision as carefully considered, adding that it marks a new phase in his political journey.

Mustapha also confirmed that he is in the process of joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressing optimism about the party’s direction.

“My decision to join the ADC is driven by my conviction that it is best positioned to bring the desired change and progress to our country, Nigeria, and particularly to our state, Kano,” he stated.

He added that the ADC offers a viable platform for advancing good governance, economic development, and improved living standards.

The development comes amid a wave of political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with key figures shifting alliances across party lines.
