Tinubu to Celebrate 74th Birthday Quietly, Aligning with Nation’s Mood

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced that he will mark his 74th birthday in a subdued manner, consistent with the prevailing mood of the nation.

In a message released on Sunday, the President stated: “Consistent with my tradition of marking my birthday in line with the nation’s mood, I have resolved to observe this year’s birthday in a low-key manner.”

Tinubu used the occasion to express appreciation to Nigerians for their prayers, goodwill messages, and support for his administration. He said: “I want to take this moment to thank Nigerians for their messages, show of love, and prayers on the occasion of my 74th birthday. I thank all our citizens for their patriotism, solidarity, and support for our administration.”

The President also acknowledged those who placed congratulatory messages in newspapers, on radio, and on television. He extended special thanks to his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

“As we march towards the third anniversary of our administration, it is my deepest conviction that we shall succeed in building a brighter future for our citizens and generations to come,” Tinubu said. “While we have faced challenges since initiating reforms, we are beginning to see signs of progress.”

He further noted that the gains achieved so far were a result of collective effort. “The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me, our Renewed Hope team, or our government. We achieved the gains together. We are determined to confront the challenges before us, and with your continued support, we shall overcome,” the President stated.

Tinubu’s message emphasized optimism and reassurance, even as he acknowledged the impact of external crises, including the ongoing Middle East situation, on national development.
