Labour Party Zeros In on South for 2027 Presidential Ticket
The Labour Party (LP) has officially zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the southern part of Nigeria, signaling a clear regional focus for the next general election.
The party’s acting National Chairperson, Nenadi Usman, confirmed the decision during a briefing with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.
“We have taken a definite position that no aspirant from northern Nigeria will be considered for our presidential ticket in 2027,” Usman stated. “The position is zoned to Southern Nigeria, and any northern aspirant attempting to contest will not be accepted.”
This development is expected to shape political strategies and candidate declarations across the country as parties prepare for the 2027 elections.
