Tinubu concentrating development in Lagos, says political analyst Modibo

A political affairs analyst, Ibrahim Modibo, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu is concentrating major development efforts in Lagos while other parts of the country continue to face inadequate social infrastructure.

Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, Modibo claimed that key federal institutions and economic decisions are increasingly being tilted toward Lagos, raising concerns over regional balance in governance.

According to him, many members of the current economic management team are either from Lagos or the South-West, a development he said has fueled perceptions of uneven representation in policy implementation.

He alleged that some federal institutions, including parts of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria Customs Service, have seen operational shifts favouring Lagos over Abuja.

Modibo further argued that huge federal spending has been directed toward Lagos, while many other states still struggle with poor access to social amenities and infrastructure.

He called for closer scrutiny of federal allocations and development priorities, stressing that balanced growth across the federation remains essential for national unity .
