Soludo names Chiamaka Nnake first female SSG in Anambra

Chukwuma Soludo has appointed Chiamaka Nnake as Secretary to the State Government, making her the first woman to occupy the position in Anambra State since the creation of the state.

The appointment was announced on Monday in a statement issued by Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary to the governor.

Nnake, 39, hails from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area and previously served as commissioner for budget and economic planning in the state.

According to the statement, she played a major role in mobilising and allocating government resources to support socio-economic development across the state.

She also held leadership positions in several state agencies, including the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service Board, and the Small Business Agency. 📌

Before joining public service, Nnake worked as a senior strategy consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she reportedly handled more than 30 client engagements across sectors such as finance, government and agriculture, earning the organisation’s CEO award in 2021.

She also contributed to the development of Anambra Vision 2070, the state’s long-term development blueprint.

Earlier in her career, she worked with IHS Towers as a business analyst and with Meristem Securities as an equity research analyst.

Academically, Nnake holds an MBA from Lagos Business School and graduated with first-class honours in accounting from Benson Idahosa University. She is also a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has completed executive public policy training at Harvard Kennedy School. 🎓

She is married and has three children.

Governor Soludo, a former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, was sworn in for a second term on March 17.
