2027: Timi Frank alleges Tinubu nursing plan to move capital to Lagos

Former Deputy National Publicity
Secretary of All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank, has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may seek to relocate Nigeria’s capital from Abuja to Lagos if re-elected in 2027.

Frank, in a statement issued on Monday, criticised what he described as a Lagos-centred approach in the current administration, saying several policy directions and major decisions appear tilted in favour of Lagos State.

He argued that recent actions of the Federal Government suggest a long-term agenda aimed at concentrating political and economic influence in Lagos, warning that such a development could further deepen regional distrust across the country.

According to him, federal appointments and development initiatives under the present administration have not reflected balanced national spread, a situation he said could weaken national unity if not addressed.

Frank also questioned the absence of major federal agreements targeted at agricultural and livestock development in Northern Nigeria, industrial expansion in the South-East, and oil and gas growth in the South-South.

He further alleged that many Nigerians across different regions feel increasingly excluded, insisting that governance must reflect fairness, inclusion and national balance.

The former APC chieftain maintained that no administration should pursue policies capable of creating division among citizens, stressing that equal development remains essential for national stability.
