Persistent power outages worsening hardship, businesses under pressure — Oyintiloye.

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye has expressed concern over Nigeria’s worsening electricity supply, saying repeated national grid failures and unstable power distribution are deepening economic hardship across the country

Speaking in Osogbo on Sunday, he said unreliable electricity has continued despite repeated reforms and assurances from authorities, warning that the situation is affecting both households and businesses.

According to him, poor power supply has become a major obstacle to ongoing reforms in the power sector, while also worsening the burden on Nigerians already facing rising living costs.

He appealed to Bola Tinubu to urgently intervene and direct immediate action toward resolving the crisis.

Oyintiloye noted that many homes struggle to enjoy even a few hours of electricity daily, while small businesses and industries are forced to rely heavily on generators due to unstable supply.

He also called for a probe into repeated national grid collapses, stressing that despite huge investments, challenges such as weak transmission infrastructure, gas shortages, and underinvestment remain unresolved.

The former lawmaker warned that growing public frustration over poor electricity could trigger wider protests if urgent steps are not taken.

He added that stable electricity remains critical for economic survival, especially as high fuel costs have made generator use increasingly difficult for many Nigerians .
