Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has strongly condemned the recent bomb explosions that rocked Maiduguri, describing the attacks as “barbaric and inhumane,” while urging residents to remain calm and vigilant.

The explosions, which occurred on Monday, reportedly left several people injured, causing panic across parts of the state capital. Emergency responders swiftly moved to the scenes to provide assistance and restore order.

In a statement, Governor Zulum decried the targeting of civilians and places of worship, emphasizing that such acts are unacceptable, particularly at a time when Muslim faithful are observing acts of devotion. He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

Zulum called on communities to strengthen security awareness in mosques, churches, markets, and other public spaces, stressing the importance of vigilance. He also assured residents that security agencies have launched investigations to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, promising that those responsible would face justice.

The state government has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, even as residents are urged to remain alert and report suspicious activities to authorities.
