You can’t defend Tinubu’s government without looking stupid – Isaac Fayose
Nigerian businessman and internet personality Isaac Fayose has criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying defending the government has become increasingly difficult.
Fayose made the remark while reacting to an interview granted by the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, to Al Jazeera journalist Mehdi Hasan on the programme Head to Head.
During the interview, Bwala addressed questions on Nigeria’s security situation, acknowledging that insecurity remains a challenge in the country.
When asked whether the government should be concerned about reports ranking Nigeria among the world’s deadliest countries, Bwala said the administration recognises the problem but noted that no country is completely free from security threats.
“I acknowledge the fact that we have insecurity in Nigeria. We began to see back-to-back attacks after the Christian genocide narratives,” Bwala said, adding that security crises exist in different parts of the world.
Reacting in a video posted on his Facebook page, Fayose criticised the government’s handling of the situation.
“You can’t defend this government without looking stupid,” he said.
He also expressed concern over Nigeria’s security ranking, saying the country appears among the most dangerous places to live while accusing political leaders of worsening the situation.
“Nigeria is the fifth deadliest country to live in the world, and we have some of the most wicked politicians. How did we get here?” he asked.
