The announcement of the mass defection by the Adamawa State government to the APC earlier this week left many observers speculating about the fate of key government officials. However, Adamu Atiku Abubakar was notably absent from the delegation that publicly declared their new alignment.

Sources close to the commissioner indicate that he has chosen to remain loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for now, although no official statement has yet been issued by him to explain his decision.
