Tinubu Names New NEMSA, SHESTCO Bosses, Forwards RMAFC Nominees to Senate

 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved fresh appointments into key federal agencies, naming new heads for the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) and the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO), Abuja, while also nominating two commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The appointments were disclosed in a statement issued Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu has been appointed as Managing Director of SHESTCO, a major federal research institution responsible for science and technology development, including the operation of a nuclear research facility.

Similarly, Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael was named Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEMSA, the agency charged with enforcing technical standards and regulations in the nation’s electricity sector.

The President also constituted a new board for NEMSA with Ikechi Clara Nwosu as Chairman, representing the South-East. Other appointees to the board include Engr. Aliyu Abdulazeez as Executive Director (Technical), alongside Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris, Igba Elizabeth (North Central), Sani Alhaji Shehu (North East), Adeyemi Adetunji (South West), Engr. Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe (South South), and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa (South East).

In a related development, Tinubu nominated Amina Gamawa from Bauchi State and Abdullahi Muktar from Kaduna State as commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

Their nominations have been transmitted to the Senate for screening and confirmation.
