Former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has launched a scathing attack on the African Democratic Congress, ADC, declaring that the party cannot serve as a credible alternative in the 2027 general elections because many of its leading figures are deeply rooted in the governance failures Nigerians are battling today.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Olawepo-Hashim said the ADC is largely populated by actors from past administrations he accused of mismanaging the economy, worsening insecurity and promoting religious divisions, especially in Northern Nigeria.

He maintained that only a few individuals within the fold could be considered exceptions, stressing that the bulk of the party’s influential voices were products of what he described as a troubled political era.

“Most of the players in the ADC were part of the recent problem. Apart from Peter Obi and Atiku, the ADC elements are all Buhari’s,” he said.

According to him, those political actors helped shape policies and narratives that fueled instability and deepened national hardship.

“They are part of the problem — the weaponizing of religion in Northern Nigeria, insecurity, and a bankrupt economy. They were part of the problem,” he added.

Olawepo-Hashim cautioned Nigerians against embracing what he termed a recycled political platform, warning that moving support from one troubled bloc to another would only worsen the country’s situation.

“You cannot go from the frying pan into the fire. Don’t go from PDP to ADC,” he said.
