Tinubu Approves Recruitment of 1,000 Forest Guards in Plateau

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 1,000 youths from Plateau State to serve as forest guards, a measure aimed at enhancing security and curbing communal conflicts in the state.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Vice President Kashim Shettima during an event in honour of Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Shettima stated that the initiative is designed to improve safety in rural areas, particularly communities affected by clashes between farmers and herders.
“The president has approved the employment of 1,000 youths as forest guards across Plateau State. The benefits of this programme will start to be felt within the next three weeks,” he said.
The Vice President also urged residents to support federal security initiatives, assuring that further development projects would be implemented to benefit Plateau communities.
