There was a warm atmosphere of gratitude and reflection in Ejigbo, Osun State, as the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyesosin (MFR), marked his 90th birthday, drawing tributes from within and outside the ancient town.
Among those who paid tribute was the Osun State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam, who described the royal father as not only a custodian of tradition, but a humane leader whose reign has touched lives across generations.
In a heartfelt message released on behalf of his family and associates, Dr. Salaam said the life and reign of Oba Oyesosin represent a rare blend of wisdom, compassion and quiet strength, noting that the monarch has consistently placed the well-being of his people above all else.
According to him, the Ogiyan’s fatherly counsel, humility and commitment to peace have made the palace a place of reassurance for the young and old alike, fostering unity and mutual respect in Ejigbo Kingdom.
“The celebration of Kabiyesi at 90 is a celebration of a life richly lived in service to humanity,” Dr. Salaam noted, adding that the monarch’s reign has been defined by patience, listening ears and a deep sense of responsibility to his people.
He offered prayers for continued good health, inner peace and renewed strength for the revered monarch, while reaffirming his personal loyalty and deep respect for the throne of the Ogiyan.
Residents and indigenes described the milestone as a collective moment of thanksgiving, saying the nonagenarian monarch remains a living bridge between generations and a symbol of stability in Ejigbo land.
As Ejigbo joins in celebrating its royal father, many say the 90th birthday of Oba Oyesosin is not just about the passage of time, but about the enduring impact of a life devoted to people, peace and purpose.
